Artists are constantly finding creative ways to tell stories through their music videos, and GRAMMY-winning singer Tyla is one of them. After her successful debut album, which has reached over 1 billion streams, the Amapiano princess brings “Breathe Me” to life in another NABIL-directed visual.
The video begins with a scene from Tyla’s “Truth Or Dare” video, as she’s seen hanging out the window of a car. Then, the scene switches to a more current version of herself, hanging out of another car window, but now she seems happier. This could represent the contrast between the two songs — in “Truth Or Dare” Tyla wasn’t happy with her lover, but she’s more content here.
Filmed on location in Japan, the clip showcases the singer and Geo, a rapper who was also featured in the “Truth Or Dare” video. A timestamp of 10:47 p.m. appears on the screen as Tyla and her love interest are shown leaving their hotel room. Throughout the video, they go on a night on the town in Osaka filled with intimate karaoke, club dancing and more.
Their chemistry in each scene has fans speculating if the pair is an item off-camera. During karaoke, they sing the lyrics of “Breathe Me” to each other lovingly. They stop to get street food and are playfully flirtatious with each other. If they’re not dating in real life, they make it very believable.
The visual closes with Geo carrying Tyla back to their hotel room, the couple giggling as the timestamp now reads 2:24 a.m. It’s late, but we suspect they won’t be going to sleep anytime soon.
