Jungle is back! Well, to be honest, the British outfit haven’t actually left since last year’s Volcano took us by storm with undeniable grooves and showstopping one-take visuals. Now that the project is just over a year old, the group has a couple of new developments. First, they’ve officially added vocalist Lydia Kitto into the fold. Secondly, they’re adding to our playlists once again with the new single “Let’s Go Back.”

“Let’s Go Back” seems to be a musical cousin to Volcano’s breakout hit “Back On 74.” It mines the same ’60s soul sound and is also built around a haunting vocal from Lydia. This time, however, things are slightly mellower as a Motown-esque piano arrangement acts as the foundation. It’s then paired with snare, tambourine and a constantly ringing hi-hat to keep the energy high.

Lyrically, the song is about longing for that loving feeling and the hope that it returns. “Let’s go, let’s go back / You know I need you here (Just like that) / Darling, when you let go, can’t go back / You know I need you here (Let’s go back),” Lydia sings on the verses. “I guess we’ll never let go, let’s go back / You know I need you here (Just like that) / Lonely when the night’s cold, let’s go there / That’s why I need you here (Let’s go back).”

As Jungle is wont to do, “Let’s Go Back” comes with a dance-filled visual co-directed by band member J. Lloyd and Charlie Di Placido. It takes us into a warehouse full of crates that happen to have the names of several Jungle projects on them. As the camera pans around, dancer Will West is revealed alongside other faces familiar to fans of the group’s videos and they all dance around the warehouse with quick, fluid movements. This, of course, is presented all in one take and is as much a joy to watch as one would expect. The video then ends with a preview of music that could hint that there is more to come soon.
