Anthony Hamilton is ready to serve up some fresh soul food. The man who brought us “Cornbread, Fish & Collard Greens” is prepping for the release of his new single “QUEEN” and gave fans a sneak preview with a little help from Jermaine Dupri.
AHam posted a video to Instagram and YouTube of Dupri in the studio bopping to the sound of his soulful vocals. “You’re my queen, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,” Anthony is heard singing on the recording. After a few more seconds, Jermaine cut the song off and said, “Alright, alright, alright! Listen! A little early studio session. A little Anthony Hamilton. New s**t!”
Hamilton added more context in the video’s caption, writing, “This one is special! ‘QUEEN’ October 4th,” with a few crowns and heart emojis.

Ironically, Anthony posted the announcement on Jermaine’s 52nd birthday and the 21st anniversary of the release of his classic album Comin’ From Where I’m From, which was co-executive produced by the two talents and released on JD’s label So So Def Recordings. That soul-stirring album put AHam on the map in 2003 after his debut project XTC was shelved in the ’90s by Uptown Records.
Jermaine most recently worked on Anthony’s 2021 album Love Is The New Black, and the pair are reunited on “QUEEN.” JD produced the track with an assist from Manuel Seal while AHam wrote it with contributions from ED D Kane, Eric Bellinger, Brandon Lloyd Hesson and Vurdell “VScript” Muller.

Some who never knew their value or the influence they had on me,” Hamilton has stated via press release. “It’s not only my duty as a Black King, but my right to celebrate, support and respect them. I was birthed by a Queen.” We know that’s right!
