Usher is returning to the silver screen. No, he hasn’t booked another acting gig, but he is taking a page out of Taylor Swift and Beyoncé’s playbooks with an upcoming concert film. Usher will bring his series of Rendez-Vous Á Paris shows to a theater near you this September when the movie Usher: Rendezvous In Paris is released worldwide.
Rendezvous In Paris was filmed amid Paris Fashion Week in September and October 2023 during Usher’s eight-night Parisian residency at La Seine Musicale. In case you didn’t get a chance to attend any of the sold-out performances last year, they’ve been packaged into this flick. Fans of Usher will not only get to enjoy concert footage galore but intimate, behind-the-scenes clips of the artist offstage living and loving life will also be included.
Usher’s Rendezvous In Paris is being brought to the screen by AMC Theatres Distribution and Trafalgar Releasing in partnership with Sony Music Vision. The global release will be shown exclusively at AMC and ODEON theaters from Thursday, September 12th through Sunday, September 15th during a very limited engagement.
With the film scheduled to be in theaters for only four days, tickets to see Usher: Rendezvous In Paris on the big screen will be a hot commodity. Usher is as excited to bring this cinematic experience to fans as he is to go on his highly-anticipated USHER: PAST PRESENT FUTURE TOUR, which starts in Atlanta on Wednesday, August 14th. “It was a gift to perform in the City of Lights and I can’t wait to share that gift to U,” he wrote on Instagram.
“Paris was a special experience for me as an entertainer and for my fans,” Usher also shared via press release. “I hope those who weren’t able to make it in person get to experience how special it was. As for those of you who were, I hope you experience the show and see what it takes to get there through a different lens.”
