Big tings a gwan for dancehall reggae icon Buju Banton. On the heels of two historic, sold-out Long Walk To Freedom - N.Y. concerts at UBS Arena in Long Island, New York this past weekend, the Jamaican artist has announced a full stateside concert tour. Banton is poised to make history again on The Overcomer Tour, his first-ever arena tour in the United States.
After his triumphant return to the stage over the weekend following a 15-year hiatus, Buju Banton is popping out on a 14-city tour that will take him to arenas across the country. With momentum and interest high, he is wasting no time hitting the road starting this August.
The Overcomer Tour kicks off in Florida on August 23rd in Fort Lauderdale before moving on to Tampa on August 25th. From there, Buju will visit cities such as D.C., Boston, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Houston, Phoenix, San Jose and Chicago through September. The tour will bring him full circle back to New York for its grand finale in Brooklyn at Barclays Center on November 17th.
Haitian-American singer-songwriter Fridayy will serve as the opening act on The Overcomer Tour. Banton will also be accompanied by The Shiloh Band who backed him for his Long Walk To Freedom - N.Y. shows.
All Buju Banton fans and Caribbean massive are invited to experience his artistry and over 30 years of jams live on this tour. Tickets for The Overcomer Tour go on presale this Wednesday through Thursday (July 17th and July 18th) at 10 a.m. ET before going on general sale this Friday, July 19th at 10 a.m. ET.
