Tyla hasn’t even released her debut album yet, but she’s already garnered some hardware with her Best African Music Performance GRAMMY win last night for her single “Water.” While we’re sure she’s floating on Cloud 9, she does still have that aforementioned self-titled debut to promote before the set’s release date. She aids in those duties with the release of her visual for her latest single “Truth Or Dare.”
Tyla returns to director NABIL to helm this particular video, which starts with her getting ready at home. She seems to be on her way out when she gets a text from a wannabe beau who says he’s pulling up. After getting flirty and then playing him with the okey-doke, she speeds away from his supercharged ride with a homegirl. This results in a high-speed pursuit as the brazen fella catches up with the singer who seems to revel in his desperation.
The two cars narrowly miss a speeding train as the day turns to night before the fella gets the upper hand and cuts Tyla’s car off. Forced to stop, the singer saunters out of the vehicle to meet him in the rain and tease him up-close and personal before hopping back in her car with his keys in tow. She then speeds away leaving him to deal with the consequences of his actions with a wicked smile on her face.
2024 seems to be Tyla’s year, and the March 1st release of her self-titled debut and her upcoming tour are sure to make her star rise even higher. Catch her if you can when you watch the daring video for “Truth Or Dare” right here.
