There’s a new music festival on the block for old souls. The inaugural Fool In Love Fest will make its debut in Los Angeles on Saturday, August 31st with a lineup that is heavy on classic soul, throwback R&B and legendary artists.
How legendary? Well, headlining Fool In Love Fest are icons Lionel Richie and Diana Ross. These two friends and “Endless Love” collaborators lead a stupendous lineup of performers who’ve contributed song after song to the soundtracks of our lives.
The list of artists scheduled to perform is lengthy and reads like a list of guests at a legend’s ball. Highlights include Al Green, Charlie Wilson, Gladys Knight, Chaka Khan, Smokey Robinson, Dionne Warwick, Evelyn Champagne King and El DeBarge. And those are just the solo acts.
There are plethora of bands and groups booked. Attendees can look forward to Nile Rodgers and Chic, Santana led by Carlos Santana, The Isley Brothers, George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, The O’Jays, Kool & The Gang, Morris Day & The Time, Rose Royce, Heatwave, The Jacksons, War, The Spinners, The Whispers, The Emotions, Zapp, The Bar-Kays, The Delfonics, The Stylistics, The Manhattans, The Chi-Lites, The Legendary Blue Notes, The Intruders, Bloodstone, Cameo, Shalamar, S.O.S. Band, Dazz Band, Con Funk Shun, The Pointer Sisters and Mary Jane Girls, to name a few.
Living legends aren’t the only performers who are on the stacked lineup. Newer soulful artists such as Durand Jones & The Indications, Thee Sacred Souls, Mayer Hawthorne and Lady Wray are also in the number. Altogether, there are a mind-blowing 67 artists on tap to perform at the one-day festival, which will take place at the Hollywood Park Grounds at Sofi Stadium.
Fool In Love Fest tickets go on sale on Friday, February 16th. Tickets start at $275 for general admission and there are various levels with different perks available. A fan presale is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET before the general ticket sales start at 2 p.m. PT/5 p.m. ET.
