GoldLink is an artist we haven’t heard from in a while. Since 2021 to be exact, when he released his last album HARAM!. He’s had a couple of under-the-radar features since then, but we’ve been missing his hybrid hip-hop electro-soul sound. GoldLink may have been laying low for the past three years, but he pops out with a pop-up performance on Noochie’s Live From The Front Porch series.

The DMV’s hottest live performance content series, which largely features DMV-born, -bred or -based artists like Raheem DeVaughn and Kenny Lattimore or those with ties to the area such as Howard University grad Eric Roberson, welcomed D.C.’s own to the residential stage. Noochie introduced GoldLink, and he stepped through the door of the house. He found his place on the front porch next to the band and in front of a nice-sized audience dressed in all black and gathered on the stoop and atop an SUV parked on the lawn.

GoldLink dug in his crates to begin his performance with the track “Palm Trees,” and it sounded just as hypnotizing as it did when we first heard it in 2015. He picked up the pace with his jam “Meditation,” which had such a smooth segue into “U Say” you’d think a DJ blended it. GoldLink was feeling it, too, and he stepped down from the porch onto the sidewalk to bust a quick move.

More jams followed with live renditions of “Joke Ting” and “Herside Story.” GoldLink’s superb set ended with his hit “Crew” and the crowd of people outside of the house went up as soon as the first note dropped. A go-go practically broke out on the front lawn. Don't be surprised if you’re led to beat your feet when you press play below.

We don’t know if GoldLink’s appearance on Noochie’s Live From The Front Porch signals his official comeback, but we certainly hope so.
