Van Hunt has been a force in the music industry for more than two decades both because of his songwriting skills and his tremendous talent as a solo artist. In recent years, Van has been independently releasing his work to rave reviews. Now he’s extending that creative freedom to his peers by forming his own label, OnTheHunt Music Group.
Van made the announcement about the upstart label on his socials, noting that he “waited 20 years to start my own record label.” He also made sure to direct aspiring artists who are interested in being on label to the label’s co-founder Monyea Crawford — an industry insider who’s been in the business since the early 1990s and has worked with his fair share of notables.
Naturally, OnTheHunt will also be Van’s label home. The label’s first release will be the performer’s new song “Our Love Lingers.” He offered a first listen of the song, which seems to be a tender ballad, in the announcement of his new venture. He then followed that up with another Instagram post to let fans know that the single is currently available to pre-save and will be available for streaming on Friday, January 26th.
