Chantae Cann is making 2024 the year of going for it with her latest single “Beautiful Brave.” Her first release since her album Sol Empowered in 2021, the uplifting mid-tempo groove is the “just do it” anthem we need for the new year.
Chantae shares some hard-fought wisdom about battling through fear on the new single produced by Michael B. Hicks. “You’ve come too far / Fought too hard / To get here / Open up the waters of your heart and set sail,” she issues a powerful reminder to herself and anyone who is on the verge of letting fear derail their dream. “No one can hold you down / Nothing can stop you now / You know you’re royalty / Come on and sing it with me,” she continues on the pre-chorus, confident and victorious.
By the time the chorus comes, she’s in warrior mode with her rock-fueled rallying cry over guitar and drums. “Beautiful brave got to get up (get up say) / I’m scared, but I’m gonna do it anyway / Do it afraid / Got get up (get up say) / I’m scared but I’m gonna do it anyway,” she implores us to do it scared.
The accompanying lyric video underscores the song’s message. The aerial views of mountain peaks with a sunlit horizon backdrop and the song’s powerful lyrics crawling across the screen encourage boundless fear-free dream chasing. As the video ends, she continues to sing emboldening affirmations, encouraging us to push past our fear and ignore the naysayers.
