Collaboration was the name of the game on BJ The Chicago Kid’s 2023 album Gravy. The soulful solo sensation linked with producer Yeti Beats for the project that featured a talented roster of guest artists, including Coco Jones, Robert Glasper and Andra Day. For his latest television appearance, BJ invited his “Honey” collaborator Chlöe to accompany him on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to perform their duet.
Under the glare of a disco ball spinning from the ceiling, BJ The Chicago Kid brought the razzle-dazzle with a fur coat draped over his shoulder, silky shirt and sequined bellbottoms. His stylist had a brotha looking 1970s sharp for his performance that had a throwback feel just like the disco-infused song. BJ worked the stage while out there by himself for the first verse before Chlöe strutted her stuff out from backstage to join him.
Dressed in a bronze sequined jumpsuit and honey-blonde extensions, Chlöe matched BJTCK’s fly. She quickly got into the groove, and the duet partners got down to business with a few flirtatious moments that reflected their chemistry on the song. Although Chlöe’s live vocals weren’t as crisp as BJ’s, she made up for it with her fabulous stage presence, dance moves and body rolls.
