As he continues the countdown to the release of his solo EP Son Of Zeus, Tyler Daley drops a second single from the project. “All I Need” tells the tale of a man noting his weaknesses and recognizing his need for someone solid on his team.
Tyler is vulnerable on this neo-soul confessional. “I know I’m one big mess, but I can invest / Everything you want me to I do, I do, I do / As long as you don’t mind / When I get down and I get weak (yeah) / When I get low, you’re all I need (all I need),” he croons, keeping it real about who he is, what he’s going through and who he wants to share his life with.
In the accompanying video directed by Matt Guest and Rob Dalton, viewers are treated to a kaleidoscope of colors and images, perhaps a metaphor for his gift as a multifaceted artist. He shares screentime with a curly-haired cutie who represents the beautiful balm he’s singing to in the song when he says, “You’re my medication.”
Daley’s latest drop follows the EP’s lead single “These Cards,” which reminds us of his roots as both a producer and a rapper. Responsible for half of the type of genre-bending soul we’ve come to love and associate with Children Of Zeus, Tyler takes matters into his hands, writing and producing “All I Need” all on his own. Much to the relief of their global following, there’s nothing to see here in terms of drama, as he continues to create and tour alongside his mate Konny Kon as a duo. It appears this solo offering is simply what Tyler needs to feed his artistic soul.
While his solo endeavor appears seamless, he expressed a bit of vulnerability with his solidified fanbase online. On Instagram, he wrote, “I feel like a new artist all over again, with a lot to prove and a lot to learn. It’s probably just what I need, the fire is still in me.”
Amid all the love shown in response to his two singles, he shared his gratitude in another IG post. “All the doubts and uncertainties I had/have are erased. The question, ‘WTF am I still doing this s**t?’ is answered by your enthusiasm and support so THANK YOU!!” he wrote.
We should be the ones thanking Tyler Daley. Stream “All I Need” and watch its visual below. Stay tuned for more from the talented artist as he continues the rollout for Son Of Zeus.
