We’re celebrating October this December. October London, that is. The artist signed to Snoop Dogg’s Death Row Records ends his banner year all over radio, people’s playlists and the charts with his album The Rebirth Of Marvin. He appreciates all the love fans have shown him and decided to thank them with the release of his holiday album The Greatest Gift.

October has some presents for the lady in his life this Christmas on this album full of seasonal slow jams. The Greatest Gift features all original Christmas songs by October and includes the track “There’s Nothing Better,” which was previously released on Snoop’s 2021 holiday compilation Christmas 3-Pack and appears here as an interlude. The songs range from the nice (“Every Kiss Begins With K,” “Rudolph Don’t Fail Me”) to the naughty (“A Baby From My Baby,” “Naughty & Nice,” “Under The Mistletoe”).

London gets into his storytelling bag like Santa gets into his sleigh on the song “A Kid’s Christmas Story,” the most kid-friendly track on this album mostly for grown folks. The 10-track project ends with its title cut. “The Greatest Gift” is a sweet Christmas love song where October sets a wholesome scene by the fireplace, which is central to the song’s music video. He holds his lady close in his arms as he croons, “The greatest gift would be your love for Christmas.”

October London’s The Greatest Gift is not a “Rebirth Of Marvin Christmas,” which may disappoint some of his newer fans. It is, however, a solid collection of music and has a few songs for couples who want spice up their holiday playlists with some new R&B Christmas songs to get freaky to underneath the mistletoe. The Greatest Gift is a solid addition to 2023’s Christmas selections and October London’s growing catalog.
