Leela James is ending the year on a high note, with her latest album Thought U Knew a shoo-in for many a “Best Of 2023” list. The soul powerhouse is taking that momentum into 2024 and taking her tunes on the road with the announcement of her Thought U Knew Tour.
Ms. James loves to perform and is wasting no time getting back on stage, with the tour scheduled to begin in a few weeks on January 13th with a concert in Grand Prairie, Texas. Following that show, she’s on to the next, including stops in Tampa, Detroit, Oakland, New York City, Baltimore, Los Angeles and Milwaukee. The bulk of the 18-city tour runs from January through April and includes one additional date in June and its final date on July 13th in Stockbridge, Georgia.
Included on Leela’s Thought U Knew Tour itinerary are her previously scheduled engagements on Maxwell’s Urban Hang Suite Cruise and the 16th Annual Capital Jazz Fest SuperCruise, which both set sail in February.
Leela performed her last show of the year over the weekend opening for legendary diva Patti LaBelle, and she already can’t wait to resume performing. “I’ll be ‘Right Back In It’ at the top of 2024 on the road, and I hope to see you in your city or one near you,” she wrote on Instagram and Facebook to accompany the tour flyer. She invited her fans to “come have a good time,” which is a given at a Leela James live show.
Tickets to see Leela James on her Thought U Knew Tour are currently on sale for most dates through the end of March. Details on a few shows are still forthcoming, but it’s advised to save the date if you don’t want to miss her when she comes to your area.
