If there’s a name that’s been on everyone’s lips this year, it has to be Keke Palmer. Whether the multi-hyphenate was putting out her own music, causing a stir with the likes of Usher or being the latest topic on The Shade Room, Miss Keke has had us in a chokehold all 2023 and she doesn’t seem to be letting up. To prove it, the performer blesses us with yet another visual, this time for her Big Boss (Deluxe) single “Assets.”
Of course, Keke isn’t going to just give us a typical music video. The clip begins with her getting her The Nutty Professor on as she plays multiple characters in a beauty salon — including a gregarious and gossipy hairdresser — who then gets the actual Keke together for a big interview at the bank (as if she needs another job). She then dances her way into the establishment, making sure to drop some knowledge about the Black woman’s predicament when it comes to economics.
That all plays into Keeks bossing all the way up in a black pinstripe number as she and her dancers clear the bank. They hit us with more of the video’s slick choreography before we see her as the hairdresser once more as she slyly hints at her current real-life baby daddy drama with her trademark comic relief.
