BJ The Chicago Kid is still riding the wave of his widely acclaimed LP Gravy, but he digs deep into his bag of hits to gift fans with a visual for his 2021 single “Snowflakes.” Produced by Jairus Mozee and Charlie Bereal, the seasonal duet features GRAMMY-nominated singer-songwriter Susan Carol and tells both sides of a love story gone wrong.

For the Mike Wilds-directed video, we watch as both BJ and Susan are clearly going through it. Though the holiday trimmings and festive photographs give glimpses of happier times, the now visually somber couple don matching pajama sets and elegant black attire with gold accents. Despite the joyous décor, the energy is grim, and they each take turns detailing their despair.

While the pain of the break-up is fresh, it appears all may not be lost. A hopeful BJ asks, “Do you miss me, baby?” Carol affirms her yearning and declares, “Baby, it’s cold outside,” to which he responds, “Wish I was there with you.” Though the visual ends there, it’s clear their story may not be over, and viewers are left to draw their own cinematic conclusions.
