The 2023 Billboard Music Awards went down this past Sunday night, and on the R&B side of things, SZA, Beyoncé and The Weeknd all collected new awards for their trophy cases. Billboard also recognized Mariah Carey with the Chart Achievement Award for her record-setting holiday classic “All I Want For Christmas Is You.” The elusive chanteuse was on hand to accept the award, which was presented to her by her twins Moroccan and Monroe Cannon, and she also performed the timeless hit.

Mariah made quite an entrance as she was lowered from the ceiling on a ski lift onto the stage that was decorated to look like an ice skating rink and ski lodge. The Queen Of Christmas launched into her festive hit while dancers roll-bounced around her on their skates in front of a studio audience. Her vocals were strong, and she sounded as lovely as she looked singing the song she’s been singing for almost 30 years like it’s brand new and the rent’s due.

The masterminds behind this performance were production designer and producer Rohit Kapoor who worked alongside Mariah and creative director, director and choreographer Debbie Allen to make all this Christmas magic happen exclusively for this year’s BBMAs. In case you missed the telecast, watch Mimi command the stage with “All I Want For Christmas Is You” and receive her Chart Achievement Award below.

There’s lots more festive fun to be had on Mariah Carey’s Merry Christmas One And All! Tour, which recently kicked off in California and is in full swing through December. Her sleigh is loaded up to bring good tidings of musical joy to fans across the U.S. and Canada, and you better believe that she’s gonna slay.
