Tyrese, Ginuwine and Tank broke the internet and answered fans’ prayers this past weekend when they made the surprise announcement that they are officially back together as TGT. Not only have the fellas reunited as the R&B supergroup they first formed in 2007, they have plans to release new music and go on tour in 2024.
All three artists were booked as solo performers at the R&B Music Experience concert in Tampa, Florida on Friday, October 20th, and after the show, they gathered together backstage in Ginuwine’s dressing room to share the news. In a video first posted to Ginuwine’s Instagram and later reposted by Tyrese and Tank, they had quite a lively reunion surrounded by friends and security.
“All bulls**t aside, all business aside, in real life, in real life; I love you brothers in real life,” a shirtless Tank said standing next to Ginuwine and Tyrese. “And I want nothing but the best for you all personally, and I want nothing but the best for the R&B universe.”
“For the people who look up to us, for the people who follow us, for the people who were inspired by us, for the people who are just connected to us in ways we could never imagine,” he eloquently continued with the charisma of a preacher. “The way we seal that legacy, the only way to seal that legacy is to bring this motherf**ker back!”
With those words, everyone in the room hooted, hollered and clapped with glee. Tank wasn’t done, though, as he directed the “$15 million question” to Tyrese. He asked him, “Rese, you gonna do the right thing?” to which Ty emphatically answered, “Yes, sir!”
Tyrese made it known that he’s been down to reunite, saying, “I’ve already committed before the cameras were rolling. Yes!” He did have one condition for his return, though. “Three splits down the middle. Equal. All across the board,” Tyrese said, making it plain that he needs the money to be right. The room full of people really went up at that moment, and Ginuwine embraced Tyrese in a big hug.
And with that, the Three Kings of R&B are back. On his Instagram, Tyrese confirmed that a “Ladies Only” concert tour is coming in Summer 2024 and a new album from TGT. This will be the trio’s sophomore effort, following their 2013 debut Three Kings, which yielded the singles “Sex Never Felt Better,” “I Need” and “Next Time Around.”
