Tyla is ready for the world. And the world is clearly ready for Tyla as seen by her ascension on international charts with her single “Water.” The song has us in a strong chokehold with no sign of loosening its grip. Tyla has the same hold on us with her unique blend of R&B, pop and Amapiano. After three singles – “Been Thinking,” her Ayra Starr duet “Girl Next Door” and her smash “Water” – the songstress is just getting started. All of these records are in preparation for her highly-anticipated debut album, which is coming sooner than you think.
In a recent interview with BBC Radio 1’s Official Charts during a visit to the UK, she gave them the exclusive scoop on her forthcoming project.
“You guys are not ready! I’m releasing an album in November, and the songs are just killer,” the fresh-faced 21-year-old happily shared. “I’ve been working a lot, but I’m enjoying it. I’m just so excited, and I’m ready to just perform and just meet people and let people get to know me,” she continued. “Because I feel like people need to get to know me so when the album hits they can get more of an idea of the vibe.”
She didn’t divulge any additional details such as the set’s release date or title, but this news is quite exciting for Tyla’s growing fanbase, or her Tygers as she affectionately refers to them.
When asked about her dream collaboration, she emphatically stated Drake, but it’s unknown if Champagne Papi will join her in any capacity on the album. Nonetheless, Tyla is ready for what’s next and coming for what’s hers.
“I’m excited for the drop!” she said. “It’s gonna be a moment for real.” Yes, it will.
