Our main man Rob Milton continues to impress us with his constant stream of output. This year, he gave us his EP Wish U Well along with his singles “Over,” “Mean A Thing” and “Head Up Song.” But if you thought that was all we’d be getting, then you haven’t been paying attention. He continues his prolific reputation by dropping off his newest single, a soul-filled, reggae-tinged duet called “More Fire.”
“More Fire” finds Rob resurrecting the ’90s-style R&B duet with help from fellow singer Tahjere, who happens to be the daughter of Bad Boy’s former first lady Faith Evans. This isn’t a stuffy ballad, though. Instead, the twosome engages in a mid-tempo affair that bounces along producer Dana Johnson’s strutting drums and guitar as the two sing of the sensual love they share.
The song begins with the sexy chorus, featuring both singers as they sing, “Fire, fire, fire / Fire fall on me / Give me that passion strong enough to part the sea / Fire, fire, fire / Fire fall on me / Only your touch can take me where I wanna be.” The singers then go onto describe the hold their love has on each other. Rob begins by breathlessly listing the many ways in which his love shows their affection. Tahjere then follows to describe the phases that their love has gone through and how in tune the twosome is with one another.
We must say that Rob Milton and Tahjere make for a winning combination. Feel the heat that the two generate together when you stream “More Fire” below.
