Raiche was on her way to delivering her debut album Loveland in the summer of 2022. Despite the buzz, the album never arrived although the singer has still put out a series of singles since. Now it’s been confirmed that Loveland is indeed on its way, though it will now be an EP arriving in November. To mark the announcement, the singer has also delivered her newest single “Half & Half” alongside the track’s video.
“Half & Half” continues her streak of sassy singles that speak to her frank nature when it comes to love and all its complications. This time around, she sings about how disappointing the prospects of eligible men are over looped guitar and slapping drums. It seems that wishy-washy men have her feeling of two minds about love and all her options, and she’s got one foot in the door and the other ready to run.
“You want a love but / I don’t supply it / I-I can’t, no I don’t do that,” she sings on the chorus. “You want a spark but / I can’t ignite it / Um, you know I won’t / You-you know I don’t.”
The video for the song follows the theme of her visuals for recent singles “Late Show” and “Big Daddy.” We watch the singer look fabulous in an orange wool coat with tails and a skin-tight mint green dress as she vamps it up against a colorful backdrop. She then proceeds to give us three-and-a-half minutes of attitude as she sings about her new approach to love. It’s giving fierce looks and an even fiercer point of view and we are here for it.
We must admit that we’re anxiously awaiting this EP. The wait will be short-lived, however. Raiche is set to release Loveland — which will include “Half & Half,” “Late Show” and “Big Daddy” as well as her 2022 single “Fool” — on November 17th.
