GRAMMY-nominated trio Moonchild continues to guide fans along a curated journey of reworks of some of their most beloved tracks. The latest tune to receive the acoustic treatment is “Cure” from their third album Voyager, which dropped back in 2017. While longtime fans will remember the original for its groovy melody and tender lyrics, this latest rendition dials down the instrumentation, leaving only a piano and Amber Navran’s angelic tone to convey the emotions of preparing for love again after heartbreak.
This latest acoustic adaption marks the fifth single from Moonchild’s forthcoming Reflections EP and follows reinterpretations of “The List,” “Run Away,” “The Truth” and “Money.” Noted as the band’s first pick when embarking on the project, Amber gave some insight about why.
“We’ve been continually overwhelmed with love for ‘Cure’ since we released it and it’s meant the world to us! A lot of our fans have told us it was the song that drew them into our music,” Navran shares via press release. She also says the track marked a pivotal moment in their career and propelled them into pursuing music on a more global scale. She continues, “We poured that love into making this new version. We hope you love it!”
Max Bryk notes that the project illustrates the trio’s growth as musicians over the past decade. He states, “A more subtle example of growth is our musical maturity and restraint. Leaving space for the music to breathe. I think that’s the main reason we created this new project, and we are excited to share Reflections with our fans.” Trust and believe we’re excited to receive it!
