Brandy is on track to have a huge holiday season to end 2023. She’ll release her first-ever holiday album Christmas With Brandy on Friday, November 10th, and then less than a week later, she’ll star in her very first holiday movie Best! Christmas! Ever!, premiering on Netflix on Thursday, November 16th. We’ve already received some details about the album, and now we’re getting a sneak peek at the film with its trailer.
The singer/actress stars opposite actress Heather Graham in Best! Christmas! Ever!, and the duo have lots of holiday hijinks on the way in the Christmas comedy. Frenemies since college, Brandy plays the role of Jackie Jennings and Graham is in the role of Charlotte Sanders.
Every Christmas, Jackie sends out a popular holiday newsletter that Charlotte loathes. Charlotte doesn’t believe that Jackie’s life is as picture-perfect as she makes it sound, and sets out to prove that all that glitters isn’t tinsel when their families are stuck spending Christmas together. In her quest to dig up some dirt, Charlotte learns some lessons about friendship and life and gets into the holiday spirit.
Brandy will get to flex her acting and vocal chops in the film. Although she doesn’t play a singer, her character Jackie can sing, and she performs at her town’s annual Christmas pageant. We don’t know if she’ll sing one of the songs from Christmas With Brandy, but that would be a perfect tie-in, if so.
Joining the ladies are actors Matt Cedeño who plays Jackie’s husband Valentino and Jason Biggs who plays Charlotte’s husband Rob – who is also Jackie’s ex-boyfriend, which is probably at the root of Charlotte’s shadiness.
Best! Christmas! Ever! is helmed by director Mary Lambert, who’s directed videos for Janet Jackson, Whitney Houston and Madonna as well as the feature film Pet Sematary. Watch the cute trailer below, and get your popcorn and wine ready for the film’s debut on Netflix.
