Eric Roberson is a multifaceted artist. He sings, he writes, he plays, he produces and he’s even got jokes. Anyone who has seen Erro perform live or been around him offstage will tell you that he has a good sense of humor and a quick wit. Although he may not be doing any stand-up comedy specials anytime soon, we get to see some of his comedic side in the visual for “I Apologize.”
The video for Eric’s loving ode to his lady actually gives viewers more of a romantic comedy. He once again taps into the talents of director Steven Jon of Oh Yeah Cool whose camera captures all of his antics and acting.
Roberson’s collegiate training as a thespian comes in handy while trying to show love to his leading lady on a set that resembles that of a stage play. We see them in a few different scenes and situations, and his facial expressions and body language say everything without him saying a word (outside of the lyrics, that is).
We don’t know how the actress kept a straight face while filming, but Erro keeps us chuckling throughout with his exaggerated dancing and wobbly rollerskating. Thankfully, his homie and one of the song’s co-producers Brett “BDubb” Baker is pretty nice on wheels, and he glides through with his own video boo to distract us from Eric’s struggle skating.
