Pebbles and Babyface told us back in the day that “Love Makes Things Happen,” and not one lie was uttered. In the case of The Shindellas, a new love interest has the ladies caught up and singing “Ooh La La,” their latest single and visual combo.
Louis York’s Claude Kelly and Chuck Harmony wrote and produced “Ooh La La” for the tantalizing trio. Tamara Chauniece, Stacy Johnson and Kasi Jones get their groove on to a track that sounds like a soulful ’80s R&B throwback. Tamara takes the lead and declares how her new boo has her feeling all the things.
“It’s undeniable, I get lost when you hold me closer / Like no one else is in the room but me and you / Too soon for me to be swept up / But this feeling’s way too strong,” she sings before Stacy and Kasi join her on the chorus. “Baby, when you touch me / Ooh la la / You turn my world around / With every kiss so sweet / Ooh la la,” the songbirds harmonize.
The “Ooh La La” visual picks up where the lyric video for “Juicy” left off. The ladies expand their garden party of three into a whole function with their friends. The video begins with one of their guests arriving while Tamara is busy on the phone cupcaking and FaceTiming with her man. The singer is downright giddy when she pops out to greet everyone and joins her groupmates on the patio stage, turning the party into a full-blown live performance.
The Shindellas are three for three with the singles they’ve dropped from their forthcoming new album Shindo. They got us open with “Last Night Was Good For My Soul” and “Juicy” and keep us on the hook with “Ooh La La.” At this rate, we cannot wait to hear the rest of the album – we’re just salty we have to wait until Friday, October 20th for that to happen. Pre-order/pre-save Shindo from numerous digital music platforms now, but not before you give “Ooh La La” a spin and its video a look right here.
