PJ Morton is widely known as the Live Show Killer thanks to his live performance prowess. Seeing PJ in concert isn’t just a show, it’s an experience. (If you know, you know!) He’s previously shared that experience on album and on film with his live recordings Gumbo Unplugged and The Piano Album. Now, the GRAMMY Award-winning phenomenon is ready to give his fans something new with his announcement of Watch The Sun Live: The Mansion Sessions.

Named after his stellar 2022 release Watch The Sun, Morton hinted back in February that he wanted to do something live to accompany the project and asked for feedback from his followers on the direction he should take it.

“I want to record something live for #WatchTheSun,” he captioned a photo of himself posted to Instagram and Facebook before listing three options and asking fans to choose their musical adventure. “A. #GumboUnplugged vibe in the studio. B. #ThePianoAlbum vibes. C. Live with a big band and big crowd. Let me know in the comments!!” People chimed in with their votes and suggestions, and PJ is finally ready to unveil this brand-new experience.

Of course, he circled back to IG and FB with a new video to share this big news. “So listen, August 10th, 8 p.m. Eastern, I’m going to premiere Watch The Sun Live: The Mansion Sessions,” PJ gleefully began before revealing a few details. “Full band, full orchestra in this beautiful mansion with some of my family and friends. So many people talk to me about being in the room for Gumbo Unplugged or being in the room for The Piano Album. Well, this is another special one, and we’re gonna all experience it together live on my YouTube.”

PJ Morton with a full band, orchestra, family and friends in a mansion? Say less! Watch The Sun Live: The Mansion Sessions already sounds incredible and next level. Watch The Sun featured a hefty lineup of guest artists, including Stevie Wonder, Nas, Jill Scott, JoJo and Alex Isley, so there’s no telling who joined Morton in the mansion. He hasn’t indicated if this visual extravaganza will be accompanied by a live album yet, but we certainly hope so.

Clear your calendar for the evening of Thursday, August 10th at 8 p.m. ET, and make plans to enjoy the premiere of Watch The Sun Live: The Mansion Sessions on PJ Morton’s YouTube channel. Click here to set a reminder and to join the watch party when it goes live.
