When Marvin Gaye blessed the world with the album Let’s Get It On on August 28, 1973, it was widely acclaimed by critics and lovingly embraced by fans. Little has changed in the 50 years since its release. Let’s Get It On is a classic in every sense of the word and is considered one of the finest works in Gaye’s oeuvre.
To commemorate the album’s 50th anniversary, Motown/UMe has released a brand-new Let’s Get It On: Deluxe Edition with extensive bonus material. The original 8-song album gets super-sized on this 41-track project bursting at the seams with extras.
The collection features 18 previously unheard Marvin Gaye recordings from his vault courtesy of his estate. Included in this edition are demos, edits, alternate mixes, remixes by SaLaAm ReMi and John Morales, instrumentals and a version of the album Vulnerable, with vocals recorded in 1973 around the time of Let’s Get It On.
