Since dropping his latest single “Lucky” earlier this month, Kenyon Dixon has been teasing fans on his socials with a behind-the-scenes peek into the making of the song’s music video. After what felt like an eternity, he’s made good on his promise, dropping a visual that perfectly matches the song’s sexy.
The video opens with a clock striking 3:00 with Dixon sitting on a bed as his lady approaches him seductively, wearing nothing but a red lace teddy, a pair of sky-high heels to match and the melanin that God gave her. The two dance, laugh and enjoy each other’s company in more ways than one as this tribute to Black Girl Magic plays on.
The scene then switches to the couple reclining on the sofa when it’s revealed that the previous scene was actually playing out on television. The two snuggle up and enjoy the show as Kenyon’s jazzy runs describe all of the many ways he’s blessed to have her in his life.
Directed by Xavier Stiles, the video captures the warmth and bliss of finding that special someone who checks all your boxes. With each glance and caress, the two pull viewers deeper into their love story with each note that Dixon sings.
“Lucky” is just the latest to come from the multihyphenate, who is hard at work putting the finishing touches on his new album. In the meantime, fans of R&B Kenny’s in the Pacific Northwest will get a chance to see him live this week as he embarks on a three-date jaunt that will take him from Seattle to Portland and Vancouver. As the rest of us patiently wait for our chance to see Kenyon Dixon on a stage near us, at least we have this steamy clip to hold us over.
