After allowing us all a moment to collectively squeal with excitement, today the gorgeous and always gracious Oakland native decided to gift her faithful following on her actual birthday with her new single “Time Heals.”

This track is a beautiful blend of skillful songwriting and top-tier musicianship. Her introspective lyrics join forces with the brilliance of musicians Errol Cooney, Michael Aaberg, Derrick Hodge, Chris Dave and Keyon Harrold and producer Joseph Epperson, creating an offering that truly speaks directly to one’s soul.

Goapele’s tone is pure and sincere as she sings, “Time heals all things / And I know that I felt some type of way before / But I slowly feel it shifting at my core / Scars are fading / And the ghosts from the past don’t haunt me anymore.”

“Time Heals” is the lead single from Goapele’s much-anticipated new album, COLOURS, which is set for release sometime this summer. Written and recorded during the pandemic, she describes the songs as “intimate and honest.”

Via press release she explains, “‎I feel like this album is different from my previous albums because of the experiences and ideas that ‎have marinated in me. That’s why it feels deeply personal. It’s about self-acceptance and ‎me continuing to evolve as a woman. I’m learning to trust the process, my intuition, and inner voice.” ‎

Regarding the single itself, on Instagram she shares, “If you know, you know how much hard work and love was poured into this. I truly believe that things happen for a reason and with effort, intention and faith, things falls into place and time heals all things.”
