Jade Novah is one of the talents that will always catch our attention. The singer-songwriter popped back on our radar earlier this year when she dropped her lovely song “Butterfly” for all those finding themselves post-breakup. Now that she’s helped us find a path back to ourselves, Jade is ready to celebrate falling in love again with her newest single “Like That.”
Here, Jade is head over heels as she contemplates how her lover does exactly what they do to her. Dreamy production consisting of a lullaby-like combination of piano and keys is given a bit of edge thanks to heavy-hitting drums that give the song a bounce and wobble that tempers its sentimentality.
Jade, meanwhile, is in fine form as she sings about how in love she is. “Words don’t mean nothing to me if your / Actions don’t do what you speak / I’ve been a queen, you a king for sure / Never met no one like you before,” she sings while revealing just how smitten she is. “How you look like that? / And treat me like that? / How you got that bag and spend it on me like that? / How you talk like that, how you walk like that?”
With “Butterfly” arriving in April and “Like That” releasing in May, we can’t help but wonder if the pattern will persist and we’ll also be rocking to some new Jade Novah next month. We surely hope so. While we see how we can make that happen, take a listen to “Like That” below.
