Concerts and music festivals have bounced back in 2023 after having the plug pulled on the live music industry for most of the pandemic. The Hampton Jazz Festival is one such music festival that has been sidelined since 2020. However, after a three-year break, the 53rd Annual Hampton Jazz Festival is on and popping this Black Music Month.
Returning to the Hampton Coliseum in Hampton, Virginia, this year’s festivities are scheduled to take place the weekend of Friday, June 23rd through Sunday, June 25th. The three-day festival boasts a lineup of legends and legends in the making for its grand return.
Setting things off on Friday, June 23rd will be Stephanie Mills, Anthony Hamilton, Jonathan Butler and Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue. Saturday, June 24th will be all the way live with Charlie Wilson, Chris Botti, Avery*Sunshine and The Chuck Brown Band. Winding the festival down on Sunday, June 25th but still turning things up will be Babyface, Fantasia, Kenny G and Peter White.
The 53rd Annual Hampton Jazz Festival is shaping up to be quite an experience and one that you don’t want to miss. Tidewater residents will definitely want to add this to your roster of things to do this Black Music Month.
