Sol Blume 2023 was on track to end this month on a musical high note in Sacramento, but Mother Nature had another idea. Due to torrential rains in Northern California and ensuing flooding in its Discovery Park location, the annual music festival was forced to cancel its original April dates. Thankfully, all is not lost with Sol Blume this year! Organizers were able to salvage the festival and reschedule it to August with most of the original lineup intact and a few exciting additions.
The new dates for Sol Blume 2023 are Saturday, August 19th and Sunday, August 20th, giving Discovery Park ample time to dry out. Attendees may have to wait a few months to see their contemporary R&B, soul and hip-hop faves perform live, but the summertime weather should be spectacular with sunshine and highs in the high-90s.
Although Sol Blume was forced to move, only a couple of artists were unable to move with it. Unfortunately, British R&B girl group FLO and Irish rapper Rejjie Snow couldn’t reschedule their appearances and won’t be performing in August. Those two losses have been replaced by four acts that music heads will be happy to see, however. Added to the already stacked lineup are eclectic soul group Phony Ppl, singers Durand Bernarr and bLAck pARty and rapper Tre’ Amani.
The Phonies, bLAck pARty and Tre’ Amani are scheduled to perform on Saturday, August 19th, which is still being headlined by Brent Faiyaz. They’ll be joining previously booked artists Ella Mai, Isaiah Rashad, Joey Bada$$, Nao, Amber Mark, Alex Isley, Sabrina Claudio, Mereba, Fana Hues, Mariah The Scientist, LaRussell and RINI.
Durand Bernarr joins the roster of talent performing on Sunday, August 20th. Kehlani remains that day’s headliner with special guest Teyana Taylor still on track to bring her The Last Rose Petal 2 show to the festival. Throughout the day, festivalgoers will also be entertained by Jacquees, Muni Long, Chlöe, Coco Jones, Jessie Reyez, Pink Sweat$, Arin Ray, Mahalia, DESTIN CONRAD, Marc E. Bassy, thuy, PinkPantheress, Christian Kuria, Zae France, Samaria and Noodles.
Attendees who already purchased tickets for the original dates will be able to transfer them to Sol Blume 2023 in August. Anyone who doesn’t have tickets yet can still purchase VIP and GA weekend passes and have the option to pay via a payment plan.
