After making its debut last year, Mary J. Blige’s Strength Of A Woman Festival & Summit is returning fresh for 2023 with an even longer list of talent and events scheduled to happen over the course of four days, from Thursday, May 11th through Sunday, May 14th. Atlanta will once again host the event where the goal is to empower, educate, elevate and be entertained by MJB and many of her talented friends.
The 2023 Strength Of A Woman Festival & Summit will be heavy on music and performances, starting from day one with An Evening With Robert Glasper at City Winery Atlanta on Thursday, May 11th. Known for his many musical collaborations, expect the multiple GRAMMY Award-winner to bring a few surprise guests along to join him on stage.
The festival and summit will only go up from there, with SOAW taking over State Farm Arena on Friday, May 12th and Saturday, May 13th. Friday night will be dedicated to celebrating the 50th anniversary of hip-hop billed as MJB-Sides. The Queen Of Hip-Hop Soul will welcome Jeezy, Busta Rhymes, Method Man, Jadakiss, DJ Drama and some of his super friends and special guests Jodeci to accompany her with Kenny Burns holding it down as host.
Before Saturday night’s musical festivities, there will be a full day of panels, conversations and podcasts to be held at America’s Mart. After people get their souls fed during the day, they can get some soul food from Ms. Lauryn Hill who’ll be headlining that night’s concert, also being hosted by Kenny Burns with DJ Mars on the turntables. Before Ms. Hill wows the audience, folks will be treated to performances by Lucky Daye, Muni Long, Coco Jones and special guest Summer Walker.
Sunday, May 14th is Mother’s Day, which will be the final day of the Strength Of A Woman Festival & Summit, and they are ending it with a little something something for everyone. There’ll be more panels and workshops, a gospel brunch hosted by radio personality Ryan Cameron at The Bank, which will also be the site of The Purpose Ball hosted by Miss Lawrence Balenciaga and featuring Saucy Santana, and a Comedy Night headlined by Mike Epps at The Tabernacle.
Believe it or not, this isn’t even everything planned for this year’s Strength Of A Woman Festival & Summit. The final schedule and complete artist lineup are still to come, but this event presented by Mary J. Blige in conjunction with Pepsi is already shaping up to be the place to be this May.
