RINI Applies 'Pressure' On 'Ultraviolet'

RINI is in the driver's seat. The Australian singer-songwriter has made serious music moves in recent years with his intoxicating blend of R&B, neo-soul and funk. Fresh off the release of his latest EP Ultraviolet, he takes us for a wild ride in the visual for the project’s lead single “Pressure.”

Over the Burnley and Vinylz-produced laid-back track, he sings the praises of his lady, reminding her that she is indeed the prize. He describes the song as the “perfect vibe out, cruisin’ song” and keeps that same energy in the Morian Thomas-directed video.

Viewers watch RINI behind the wheel and his homeboy riding shotgun as they attempt to track down his elusive lover in a sleek, vintage ride. The high speed and dangerous curves of the chase could serve as metaphors for the rollercoaster ride of romance, as it sparks a similar rush of adrenaline. However, for RINI, the clip channels more chill vibes. “The whole video kinda feels like what me and the homies would do back home, you know, just go for ‎drives and kick it,” he stated via press release.‎

While the track itself is meant to appeal to the masses, the full Ultraviolet EP tells the broader tale of RINI’s evolution as both an artist and a man. He continues, “This project is really about me stepping out of my comfort zone on all fronts. I’m at a place in my artistry where I’m testing new things, running with every spark of inspiration – and Ultraviolet is definitely a product of this.”
