Kelela is coming on strong and making up for lost time in the lead-up to the release of her sophomore full-length album Raven. She's dropped several singles and announced that she's going on tour soon after the album's February 10th release date. She's not letting up on us, either, as she just dropped the video for her current single "On The Run."
"On The Run" was already a slinky song charged with sexual tension thanks to its electronic groove and Kelela's inviting lyrics. Those vibes transfer to the track's video in a dynamic way.
The clip begins with the singer on a road trip with her homegirl Bambii, who happens to be one of the song's producers. The ride is cute at first, with the ladies moving to the groove while dimly lit images of a sweaty Kelela clad in a revealing body suit are intercut with scenes in the car. Things soon get even sexier at the video's midpoint after the singer hops in the backseat for a costume change. Soon, smoke fills the frame as she shows off some sexy moves for the car behind them until the rain comes down.
With us already receiving visuals for both "Washed Away" and "Happy Ending," we're hoping that Kelela keeps up the trend of releasing a single and video in a near-simultaneous fashion through Raven's release and well after.
