According to a recent update to her Twitter bio, Anita Baker will officially release new music on Thursday, January 5, 2023. The bio update wasn't accompanied by a corresponding tweet, press release or any additional information. That's literally all that she wrote, but that's enough for us!
Ms. Baker wrote the words "NEW MUSIC" in all caps for emphasis, and we believe her. It also appears as if this mystery music will make its debut on television on January 5th. We don't know on what channel or at what time, but we have the date circled in red on our calendars and alarms already set. We are not missing seeing and hearing Anita Baker on our TV screens for anything.
This forthcoming song will be Anita Baker's first single in over a decade and after announcing her retirement. The last time we heard something new from her was when she remade Tyrese's "Lately" in 2012, so we're eagerly anticipating this release.
