The most any of us can hope for is to simply be understood. As it's often challenging to convey one’s thoughts and feelings to the masses, finding your tribe where you safely bare your soul is golden. Singer-songwriter Chiiild brilliantly captures this sentiment on his latest single “You Get Me (A Final Word).”
Producers Yonathan Ayal and PL provide a dreamy sound bed for Chiiild. Over the acoustic guitar-laden track he gives his most vulnerable self as he sings, “And my mind is out to get me / ‘Cause I know I’ve been drifting lately / And I hope you don’t hold it against me / If you get me, just say you get me.”
With thoughtful lyrics and penetrating vocals, Chiiild’s most recent offering gives listeners an intimate moment of transparency. He explains, “I was just trying to have a conversation with you. Simply and honestly. No fluff, just insight, in hopes that you get me."
The single serves as the second release from his forthcoming album, Better Luck In The Next Life, following the lead single "Bon Voyage." Both tracks provide a coveted glimpse into his complex mind while setting the stage for the widely anticipated follow-up to his 2021 debut album, Hope For Sale. Described as “an in-depth exploration of creative freedom, personal equilibrium, and a return home,” the upcoming project is sure to give his core fanbase everything they crave.
Chiiild hasn't shared the album's release date yet, but he has announced a tour in support of it. The Better Luck In The Next Life Tour kicks off in spring 2023. The 21-stop tour will begin in Santa Ana, California on March 2, 2023 before hitting major cities across North America. After winding across the country, the tour returns to Cali to wrap things up in San Francisco on April 11, 2023.
