After the massive year she's had, Ari Lennox owes us nothing. But the "Queen Space" singer did decide to give fans a little something something for the holidays with the wide release of her rendition of "My Favorite Things."

Originally recorded exclusively for Apple Music's Carols Covered collection in 2021, the song got an official release to all streaming services this year. We're not usually fans of regifting at Christmas, but in Ari's case, we'll make an exception as her warm, soulful spin on "My Favorite Things" is exceptional.

Created for the 1959 Broadway musical The Sound Of Music, Rodgers and Hammerstein's "My Favorite Things" has become a Christmastime standard over the years. That could be thanks to the movie musical version of The Sound Of Music starring Julie Andrews being broadcast on television every holiday season like clockwork. Now "My Favorite Things" is as tightly associated with Christmas as Santa Claus and Rudolph the Reindeer.

"I decided to cover 'My Favorite Things' because I really love The Sound Of Music," Ari shared with Apple Music. "The original version really spoke to me because Julie Andrews is a phenomenal, beautiful singer. Her tone is crazy, and I just wanted to do my own version."
