Mariah The Scientist isn't taking a break-up too well on her latest single "Bout Mine." Instead of moving on, she wants to be together again, and while it could all be so simple, her ex chooses to make it hard. Things didn't end well between Mariah and her beau, and, although he's moved on, she's stuck and going off the deep end.
She is in her feels from the first verse when she sings, "Feelin' lost, feelin' nervous / And I know I don't deserve this / What's it cost? / 'Cause I want you back, babe / Goin' out sad lately."
What she is going out of is her mind as she proceeds to sound a little unhinged in subsequent lyrics like, "There's no goin' back, babe / This could end tragically." Coming straight from her broken heart, that doesn't sound like a threat but more like a promise.
Things escalate in the "Bout Mine" video, which she co-directed with Cam Busby. Mariah pulls up in a limo to an office building and exits the limo holding a baby wrapped in a blanket. She strides past building security with her own security wishing that he would try to stop them. Mariah and her crew of two take the elevator upstairs to the Love Lab Records offices where a meeting is being held in the conference room, but once she bursts through the door, all hell breaks loose.
Before she starts wrecking shop, though, Mariah hands her baby off to her male accomplice and clears the room with the exception of her ex and his blonde co-worker. Papers and glasses fly through the air prior to the brokenhearted singer threatening her ex with a broken champagne bottle and hitting him over the head with a platinum record plaque.
Mariah causes quite the scene as his co-workers watch in horror from the other side of the glass walls. She even tries to snatch blondie up, but he pulls her away before she can grab ahold of her wig. In the midst of Mariah wilding out, he somehow calms her down then drops to his knees to hug her. She pushes him to the floor but instead of kicking him while he's down, she jumps on top of him and rips his shirt off, giving his confused co-workers another kind of show.
