North Carolina's own The Ton3s return to their gospel roots with a detour on the dance floor on their latest single. The harmonizing homies recorded the song “Thank You” featuring Mr. TalkBox while in the studio working on tracks for Snoop Dogg's album Bible Of Love. While the single didn’t make the cut in 2018, its release is right on time.

The trio formerly known as Anthony Hamilton’s sangin’ background vocalists The Hamiltones, Tony Lelo, J. Vito and 2E showcase the handclapping, foot-stomping rhythm and praise that is the bedrock of their soul-filled sound. "We’re just grateful to still be relevant in this music industry and we realize why that’s possible, so we’re just saying 'Thank You' to the man up above for granting us the energy and opportunity to do what we love,” Lelo said of the song’s importance.

Not only are they still relevant, but this track proves they have staying power. The anointed up-tempo bop with talkbox and synth celebrates the ultimate plug. It doesn’t matter what mountains they face; they can count on the goodness of an on-time God. “Father, father (father, father) / Here I stand (here I stand) / I need your help now (I need your help) / Once again (ooh) / No other help (no other help) / Do I know (do I know) / You’re always there (you’re always there) and I love you so,” they sing.

The Ton3s make it clear where their help and strength come from. No matter the situation or circumstance they have a faithful Father who is covering them and making a way. “Now I’m calling (I’m calling) / I’m on the line (the line) / ‘Cause I know that you (oh yeah) will see me through (see me through) / You never (you never) failed me before / And some say it’s keys but for sure you open doors,” they sing. Hallelujah to that last line. This is that flex. If you know, you know.

“Thank You” got us pulling down strongholds all up and through. This is that Rhythm & Praise we’ve been missing since the early days of WOW Gospel compilations and Kirk Franklin and God’s Property and Dawkins & Dawkins. We love our Ton3s fam, and think this just might be a sign that they need to go ahead and drop that gospel album ASAPtually.
