Rochelle Jordan wants us back on the dance floor again. Why else would she be set to drop her upcoming remix album Play With The Changes Remixed? The original version of the album was chock full of dance-ready cuts that got bodies moving and booties shaking. This remix album promises to do the same, as exemplified by lead single "Love You Good (LSDXOXO Remix)." With the album just over the horizon, she gives us another taste with a Kaytranada remix of her track "All Along."
The original version of "All Along" was an unexpected New Jack Swing delight when she dropped it back in February of last year. It's hard to imagine anything could improve upon the original, but leave it to Kaytranada to find a way. The GRAMMY Award winner infuses the track with his own funky sensibilities by supplying an elastic bass line and hand claps throughout as echoes of the original version bubble just under the service. A haunting organ line rounds out the groove to add some lightness to Rochelle's slightly distorted vocal as the beat coasts alongside it.
The pace of the remix doesn't get above a shuffle, but it's easy to imagine this still motivating the masses to move along to Kaytranada's reimagining of this particular groove.
