When we first came to know of singer-songwriter Reggie Becton in 2018 via his single "River," he was going by the name Sireginald. A lot has transpired since, including a host of singles, an EP and his 2021 album California. He's now back at it again, dropping of his sexy new single "Sway" for our listening pleasure.
"Sway" is a potent mixture of the secular and spiritual thanks to creative production from collaborators Jahnei Clarke, Aidan Carroll and Becton himself. They combine moody piano with churchy organ, rumbling drums and vocal samples that keep the groove moving along at a seductive pace. Reggie catches the groove while describing the situation as it unfolds.
Though he doesn't give them a name, whoever it is seems to have quite the hold on him. "Cuckoo for your coco puff, a menace / You can't keep my name out your mouth, I'm like a dentist / We keep going back and forth, Serena and Venus," he sings with a hot-and-bothered air. "Every single day a different place, a different feeling, yeah / I need more, don't make me wait right now / Give all that you can take right now."
