Music is a form of expression. Some artists take that to heart and pour out their true feelings in their music, to not only help themselves but their fans that need to hear that message as well. Count Manchester, England native Pip Millett in that camp, and look no further than her latest single “Heal” for confirmation.

Pip has wrapped work on her debut album, When Everything Is Better, I’ll Let You Know, scheduled for release in October. She gives us another taste of what is to come with “Heal,” a song that is extremely relatable to many of us. It describes Pip’s mindset as she goes through her healing process and tries to get back out there and be productive again.

The song starts off with an acoustic guitar vibe, with just a little piano, joined by an understated drum beat that allows Pip’s mesmerizing voice to take over as she tells her story. The bass line kicks in for the chorus and cleverly disappears once she begins the second verse. Pip gives us a glimpse into what she is going through as she sings, "I'm just tryna heal / Yes, I know I'm gonna make a difference / I just wanna love and get on with my luck / And make a difference / It's been pretty rough, what a road to walk down."

On "Heal," Pip Millett has done the work and isn't afraid to share what she's gone through as a means of encouraging others to push through. She took to Instagram on the single's release day to share her feelings in a caption, writing, "i love this song so much. it’s the light at the end of the tunnel. i’ve listened to this on some of my down days and it’s provided me with so much hope. maybe it can do the same for you."

"Heal" joins previous singles "Ride With Me," "Downright" and "Slow" all of which will be included on When Everything Is Better, I’ll Let You Know. Given her solid trio of EP releases over the past three years – 2019's Do Well, 2020's Lost In June and 2021's Motion Sick – we eagerly anticipate her debut collection to hear what other gems she has in store.

The project already sounds like it will be Pip at her most vulnerable and transparent. "i hope you listen to this album and hear the growth throughout the stories i’m telling," she wrote on Instagram with the album's announcement. "i love and like myself now but there was a time when i didn’t. i’ve grown. there’s hope. I’m still growing. i’m hopeful. i’m happy. i’m grateful."
