It's been a little over a year since Hil St. Soul "Blessed" us with some new music, but she's back with something fresh out of the oven and news of more soul food on the way. The songstress who was a part of the neo-soul wave of the late '90s/early aughts continues to feed our need with her latest single “A Feeling So Beautiful.”
Hil is basking in the afterglow of a passionate night with her lover on "A Feeling So Beautiful." The encounter has left her invigorated and inspired as she reflects on their relationship. Her lyrics, which she co-wrote with producer Regi Myrix, make us feel like we have a front-row seat to their love thing over a luxurious mid-tempo groove comprised of percussion, bass and keys.
On the chorus she sings, "You’re giving me life, a feeling so fly / A feeling so beautiful (beautiful, beautiful) / Still riding that high from the other night / The love we made was so beautiful (beautiful, beautiful)," and it's so catchy that you'll find yourself wanting to dedicate it to your significant other.
"'A Feeling So Beautiful' is a song about the physical and spiritual connection between two people," the singer-songwriter born Hilary Mwelwa said about the song in a press statement. "It's like a love letter to that special person in your life and is about reminiscing on the previous magical night that was had but also about being in the present moment and expressing your desire to create more magical moments."
Hearing this song leaves us wanting to hear more from Hil St. Soul, and thankfully more is to come. Hil has confirmed that she has a new album of songs that she recorded during the pandemic is on the way. While we wait for her long overdue follow-up to 2008's Black Rose album, we'll have “A Feeling So Beautiful” on repeat.
