It seems our boy DRAM has been rather busy in the year since the release of his last album Shelley FKA DRAM. Besides reverting back to his original stage name, the singer-songwriter has been hard at work on his next album, What Had Happened Was. We got the first preview with his single "WHAM!" and now he's giving us another with the release of "Let Me See Your Phone."

If you couldn't tell by the title, the song is all about the drama that surrounds that moment when trust is broken in a relationship. Helping him tell this story is throwback production that channels broken-hearted tunes from the '70s and '80s with piano and stabs of guitar accentuating his distress as he tries to figure out what exactly is going on with his lady.

The verses detail his paranoia as he realizes that things have soured between them and he searches for the answer. The chorus finds him giving in to the urge to snoop as he outright demands, "Let me see your phone / Type in your passcode / So I can see inside of your soul / And I'm scrolling down to find / Where it might be."

While the song might depict a painful moment in a relationship, everything is looking up for DRAM. He's all smiles all over his socials and he has a listening party for his album this Saturday (October 1st) for all of his hometown folks in Virginia. As for that album, What Had Happened Was is set for an October 27th release and fans and R&B lovers can pre-save the set now. Before you do that, though, take a listen to "Let Me See Your Phone" when you press play.
