Labor Day has come and gone here in the States, but summer isn't officially over for a couple weeks. That means you can put down that pumpkin spice latte and catch these last few doses of summer vibes. Helping us keep this party going is Bryson Tiller, who returns with his newest cut "Outside."
"Outside" is based around a recognizable sample of the Ying Yang Twins massive 2005 hit "Wait (The Whisper Song)." Though it's pretty obvious from the very beginning, enough is done to switch it up and make it all about Bryson.
Bryson, meanwhile, makes the track all about a lady who's stepping back on the scene after ending a relationship. He uses the verses to describe just how bad this chick is, from her hair to her white-painted toenails. And while Tiller is definitely trying to shoot his shot, he also makes it a point to praise her while slamming her ex for letting her go.
"Used to be in love, now you're like, 'F**k Cupid' / Hate to be your ex, know that n***a feel stupid / Thumbin' through the 'gram, tryna figure out where you been / All he need to know is that you're outside," he sings on the chorus. "Watchin' real-time while you're too live / Easily adjusted to your new life / Since you let loose, he been too tight / Tight."
Aside from his feature on Diddy’s R&B comeback track ”Gotta Move On,” "Outside" is the first new music from Bryson since he dropped his 2020 album A N N I V E R S A R Y and its deluxe edition in 2021. Could it be that he has another project on the horizon? That remains to be seen. Until we know more, listen to "Outside" when you press play.
