The name that seems to be on everybody's lips these days is Doechii. The TDE star is currently enjoying a meteoric rise as her songs "Persuasive" and "Crazy" continue to burn up the airwaves over this hot, hot summer. As she continues to fuel her fire, she's revisiting "Persuasive" by adding some sparkle and shine with a new version featuring her labelmate SZA.
This new take builds upon the original with Doechii supplying her previous opening verse and addictive chorus on the track. Her description of the perfect high is still a vibe months later and the song's production will always be a party starter.
SZA hops in for the second verse, giving us a more spiritual side of things. "How does it feel to be alive? / Let me break it down 'til it feel right," she sings. "How does it feel? / I'm so aligned / And it's so / Devil himself can't kill the vibe." Sounds like a nice place to be.
SZA stays on to add well-placed ad-libs throughout the rest of the track and even mimics a bit of Doechii's flow as the song rides out to its conclusion on a house-inspired outro.
"I created 'Persuasive' to uplift people and bring communities together, so having SZA jump on the song was a perfect fit because I’ve always connected with others over her music,” Doechii said in a press release. "Knowing that SZA is with TDE was what originally got me most excited about being on this label, so now that we have a song together it’s a full-circle moment. She really ATE! This collaboration is everything I always imagined it to be."
In addition to dropping this unexpected collaboration, the up-and-comer also announced that her debut EP on TDE, she/her/black b***h, is set to arrive on August 5th. Of course, she left all other details about the set up in the air. We're super hype about what can be expected on the EP, but right now we just really want to get back into this new vibe that Doechii and SZA are giving with "Persuasive."
