If there's one word to describe Raheem DeVaughn, that word would be prolific. Earlier this month, the singer/songwriter/producer released his 12th album and second this year when he dropped the compilation Raheem DeVaughn Presents From Lust Till Dawn. The latest single from that project is the Tim Kelley-produced cut "If I Don't," which is also his latest to get a music video.
Raheem is joined by singer and actress V. Bozeman who plays his leading lady in the "If I Don't" visual. Directed by DNA Videos and filmed in black-and-white, the capture is more artistic in nature, playing with space, light, camera angles and decor to create mood and atmosphere.
DeVaughn and Bozeman share numerous scenes but never actually interact with each other. Yet and still, romance is in the air and their chemistry is palpable nonetheless. The pair previously worked together in the video for Raheem's 2019 single "Just Right," so they're not new to this, they're true to this.
"I wanted to do something abstract and as always my sister V. Bozeman and I have great chemistry on film, so working with her again, was a no-brainer," Raheem said about his easy choice for a leading lady via press release.
Raheem DeVaughn is all about collaboration right now. Although V. Bozeman isn't featured on his new album, he is joined by a host of artists including YahZarah, Wes Felton, Vandell Andrew, Bee Boy$oul, GeorgiaReign and long lost neo-soul songstress Grenique. Described as an “R&B radio show-meets-summer-cookout-mixtape-themed LP,” Raheem DeVaughn Presents From Lust Till Dawn is heavy on the R&B and soul that we've come to expect from The Love King.
