Lizzo has another hit on her hands with "About Damn Time." The track is a certified jam and has gone viral on social media as the masses get lost in its disco-like grooves. Perhaps sensing that this one is going to have the dance clubs going up, Lizzo connects with producer Purple Disco Machine to shine it up like a disco ball with a new remix.
The producer, who has worked with the likes of Dua Lipa and Lady Gaga, makes sure that the disco is strong with this one. He builds upon the original groove, making sure to especially use the rhythm guitar and bass, and fills the rest in with even more varied percussion and synths to make it sparkle.
When it comes to the song's bridge, he adds even more to the proceedings by building it up to a crescendo before dropping the beat with a dynamic flourish. That beat drop then gives way to vocoder vocals that take the song to its eventual finish.
"As soon as I heard the song, I knew I had to to remix it," Purple Disco Machine wrote about the remix on Twitter. "It's so great to hear such an amazing contemporary song by a world class artist like Lizzo, based on the same disco vibes that inspire my music."
