Lucky Daye entered his Candydrip album cycle presenting himself as quite the fashion plate (think the many outfit changes of the "Over" video and the glossy, flossy photos all over his socials). We must admit that the singer has been looking good, but he takes fashion to another level in the video for his single "NWA."
"NWA" literally brings a magazine layout to life. Directed by Rubberband., the clip shows us a magazine in the mock-up stages, with layouts and ads mapped out perfectly arranged before it all goes to the presses. Lucky is obviously the star of this story, with his face plastered all over the 'zine from the content page to the final fold.
We see him as a movable cover story as he rocks multiple looks and styles throughout the pages while references to Candydrip and its songs appear throughout (perhaps alluding to what the tour book from his current national tour looks like).
The song's featured guest Lil Durk isn't physically in the clip, but we do get a glimpse of him in photograph form during his brief verse alongside an article pondering who the star really is and wavy lyrics that dance on the mock-up's pages. Durk isn't the only one guesting on the pages, either, as Lucky got his homies Smino and Algee Smith to show us what they’re working with, too.
"NWA" is, surprisingly, only the second visual released from Candydrip thus far. Here's hoping that we get a few more videos from the album that match or surpass the creativity found in this one. Watch Lucky Daye get fashion forward when you press play.
